Keeping Children Safe in Sport

A cross sport event supporting welfare officers in sports clubs and organisations across Surrey as part of Parents in Sports Week.

Following a safeguarding survey of voluntary organisations by the Surrey Safeguarding Children Partnership (SSCP) and to coincide with the 2018 Parents in Sports week the SSCP, Surrey County Council and sports organisations across Surrey are offering an evening event to upskill coaches, welfare officers and sports organisers in a range of safeguarding areas.

There will be presentations and workshops on the following areas: Child Sexual Exploitation, Online Safety, Understanding the impact of Mental Ill Health on Young People and Developing Resilience, Prevent and Radicalisation, Pitch-side Behaviour, as well as outlining the role of the SSCP and relevant multi-agency safeguarding policies and processes.

The event takes place at Bourne Hall www.bournehall.org Spring Street Ewell Surrey KT17 1UF on Monday 1 Oct 2018 at 6.30 registration for 7.00 – 9.30 pm.
